Aircrew Survival Flight Equipment Technician II with Security Clearance

Responsibilities- This occupation includes jobs involved in disassembling, repairing, testing, troubleshooting, examining, fitting, modifying, maintaining, installing, and determining serviceability of aircraft survival and flight equipment such as helmets, torso harness assemblies, preservers, parachutes, life rafts, chemical and biological protective devices, survival kits, oxygen masks, and anti‑G‑suits.
- Operational and circuit checks of emergency signaling and communication devices such as survival radios and beacons.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance procedures, pyrotechnic and explosive devices, and aircraft egress systems.
- Familiarity with aircraft assigned to the unit and detailed knowledge of the operation and characteristics of aircraft survival and flight equipment.
- Ability to demonstrate and explain proper usage and operation of the equipment.
- High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Thorough understanding of DOD aircraft maintenance processes preferred.
- Working knowledge of computers (input/extract data).
- Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
- Obtain/maintain security clearance, DOD CAC privileges, and Special Access Badge requirements.
- Available to work days, nights, and weekends as required.
- Ability to travel.
- Customer‑focused and courteous in interactions with company employees.
- Meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
- Graduate of Navy PR or Air Force or Army MOS Course or equivalent; an aviators Breathing Oxygen (ABO) operator/analyst also a graduate of an approved ABO school.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in aviation life support equipment maintenance.
- Must pass an ordinance physical and become explosives handling certified within thirty (30) days of hire.
- Familiarize with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series and other applicable Navy instructions, maintenance instruction manuals, IPB's, manufacturer’s manuals and company instructions within 60 days of hire.
- Become familiar with Company and Government Environmental, Health and Safety, Quality Control and Property Control policies within 60 days of hire.
Environment ranges from office to hangar and flight line, requiring extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
