M1 is looking for an Aircrew Survival Flight Equipment Technician II. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Disassembling, repairing, testing, troubleshooting, examining, fitting, modifying, maintaining, installing, and determining serviceability of aircraft survival and flight equipment such as helmets, torso harness assemblies, preservers, parachutes, life rafts, chemical and biological protective devices, survival kits, oxygen masks, and anti‑G suits.
- Performing operational and circuit checks of emergency signaling and communication devices such as survival radios and beacons.
- Using knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance procedures, pyrotechnic and explosive devices, and aircraft egress systems.
- Familiarity with aircraft assigned to the unit, detailed knowledge of the operation and characteristics of aircraft survival and flight equipment, and the ability to demonstrate and explain proper usage and operation of the equipment.
- High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Thorough understanding of DOD aircraft maintenance processes preferred.
- Working knowledge of computers (input/extract data).
- Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Obtain/maintain security clearance, DOD CAC privileges, and Special Access Badge requirements.
- Must be able to work days, nights, and weekends as required.
- Current valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Ability to travel.
- Willing and able to deal with customers and company employees in a courteous and professional manner.
- Must be able to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
- Requires familiarity with aircraft assigned to the unit and detailed knowledge of the operation and characteristics of aircraft survival and flight equipment.
- Requires knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance procedures, pyrotechnic and explosive devices, and aircraft egress systems.
- Graduate of Navy PR, Air Force or Army MOS Course or equivalent. An aviator’s Breathing Oxygen (ABO) operator/analyst shall be a graduate of an approved ABO school.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in aviation life support equipment maintenance.
- Must be able to pass an ordinance physical and become explosives handling certified within thirty (30) days of hire or assignment to position.
- Familiarization with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series and other applicable Navy instructions, maintenance instruction manuals, IPB's, manufacturer’s manuals and company instructions as required for performance of job functions.
- Must become familiar with Company and Government Environmental, Health and Safety, Quality Control and Property Control policies and procedures and local operating procedures within sixty (60) days of hire or assignment to position.
- Environment ranges from office to hangar and flight line and requires extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
