Permanent Controller – Finance Team
We are a growing organization focused on farming and food production with a tenured staff and a second‑to‑none culture. We are expanding and seeking an experienced Permanent Controller to oversee our accounting department and support the CFO.
Job SummaryAs Permanent Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger postings, labor cost allocation, daily banking schedule, variance analysis, month‑end and year‑end close processes, financial statements, tax deposits, cost accounting, external reporting, asset strategies, and audit support.

- Direct and oversee day‑to‑day accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure accurate general ledger postings and proper allocation of direct labor costs related to cost centers
- Prepare and maintain daily banking schedule
- Conduct actual to budget or variance analysis
- Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes
- Prepare monthly financial statements and tax deposits
- Conduct cost accounting, reporting, and financial analysis activities
- Assist the CFO in the preparation of external reports, including income tax returns and property tax returns
- Support the CFO in asset management strategies, cash flow forecasting, cash management, and financing strategies
- Provide support to the CFO during external audits
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Advanced knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel
- Strong understanding of data analysis and forecasting
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred
