Join our independent tax office in Lenexa, KS, where we pride ourselves on delivering top-notch tax preparation services for individuals and businesses alike. We are currently seeking a SEASONED Tax Preparer for an immediate start. This is a contract position that pays $30-$35 per hour plus performance bonus paid out at end of season (April 15th). Expected work 40-55 hours per week.

Duties

• Accurately prepare and file tax returns for diverse clients
• Collect and organize necessary financial documents from clients
• Review and verify tax forms and supporting documentation for thoroughness
• Calculate tax liabilities, deductions, credits, and refunds with precision
• Stay informed on the latest tax laws and regulations
• Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing client inquiries
• Ensure client confidentiality and uphold data security protocols

Experience

• At least 2 years of proven experience as a Tax Preparer or in a related capacity
• In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and processes
• Proficient in tax preparation software (e.g., Pro Series, Ultra Tax)
• Understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Ability to analyze financial data and perform accurate calculations
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities

Ideal candidates will have experience in:

• Corporate or public accounting
• Technical accounting knowledge
• Sales or customer service

Proficiency in 10-key typing is extremely helpful.
