Accounting Assistant

We’re partnering with a company in Lenexa, Kansas to hire an Accounting Assistant who can own day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
. This is a hands‑on role for someone who’s comfortable managing high-volume transactions, staying organized, and keeping things accurate.

What you’ll be doing

• Process full-cycle Accounts Payable
  : invoice entry, coding, approvals, and payment processing
• Manage Accounts Receivable
  : invoicing, posting payments, resolving discrepancies, and collections follow‑up
• Reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts; research and resolve variances
• Support month‑end close activities (basic reconciliations, reporting support, documentation)
• Maintain accurate records and provide strong internal customer service to operations and leadership
• Assist with process improvements and ad hoc accounting projects as needed

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of recent experience handling both AP and AR (required)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced environment
• Proficiency with Excel (filters, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP a plus)
• ERP/accounting software experience (any platform—Quick Books, Net Suite, SAP, Dynamics, Sage, etc.)
• Reliable, accountable, and comfortable communicating with vendors/customers professionally

Nice to have

• Associate or Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent experience)
• Experience with month‑end support, reconciliations, or multi‑entity environments
