Compensation Range: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Role Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Assistant to support our procurement team in managing purchasing activities and ensuring the efficient flow of materials and supplies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain management and experience with various ERP systems. This role is essential in maintaining inventory levels, negotiating contracts, and sourcing quality products to meet the company's operational needs.

Responsibilities
  • Source and purchase packaging, materials, and supplies required for kitting, assembly, and promotional packaging projects.
  • Use procurement software and WMS to issue purchase orders, track deliveries and monitor stock levels.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, print suppliers and service providers.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms to achieve cost savings while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Work directly with warehouse supervisors, line lead, and project managers to forecast upcoming material needs.
  • Support quick-turn or rush jobs by expediting material purchases when needed.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier files.
  • Track spend against budgets and provide reporting to operations management.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of materials management, MRP processes, and inventory control principles.
  • Experience in procurement, sourcing strategies, and negotiation techniques.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management concepts and logistics operations.
  • Ability to analyze data for informed decision‑making regarding pricing and inventory management.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of e‑commerce platforms related to purchasing processes is a plus.
  • Understanding of merchandising principles as they relate to procurement activities.
