GBA Builders is dedicated to building the critical environments common in the pharmaceutical, biotech, mission critical and other regulated industries. We provide pre-construction consulting, general contracting, design-build and construction management at risk services. GBA Builders is headquartered in Lenexa, Kansas with field offices throughout the Midwest. This position will focus in our mission critical business area.
We are looking for a candidate to assist with design-build projects. A successful candidate will be a team player who is self-motivated and willing to jump in and assist where needed, adding value by offering thoughtful solutions and project efficiencies.
Responsibilities:- Be a team player on design-build projects – work with architects, engineers, owners, subs, etc.
- Interact with clients and design team as needed to resolve issues and expedite construction work
- Estimating assistance – quantity takeoff, subcontractor pricing assistance
- Quality control assistance
- Scheduling development and management
- Project bidding and buyout
- Project Budget Management
- Safety assistance while on job sites
- Degree in construction management or engineering
- At least 5 years of experience; mission critical construction preferred.
- Hands on construction experience is desired but not required
- Knowledge and experience working with MEP systems
- Partnership approach to working with architects and engineers
- MS Office Suite knowledge and excellent computer skills
- Proficient in MS Project
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to be a team player
- Self-motivation and time management skills
- Some travel is required
