A growing electrical contracting team is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to support ongoing commercial, industrial, and design-build projects. This role is based in Lenexa, KS
, with a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite / 1 day remote). This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a conversion salary range of $85K–$105K
, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates.
As an Electrical Estimator, you’ll play a key part in project planning by developing accurate, detailed cost estimates that ensure successful project execution. This position is ideal for someone who is self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with project teams.
What You’ll DoPrepare comprehensive electrical estimates for commercial, industrial, and design‑build projects.
Interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to evaluate project scope and cost.
Use estimating software (preferably Accubid/Anywhere) to develop accurate bids.
Review and write clear, detailed scope letters.
Support project managers with cost breakdowns, value engineering, and bid reviews.
Evaluate project costs to ensure accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high‑quality proposals.
Minimum 5 years of electrical estimating experience
, including design‑build projects.Strong understanding of industrial/commercial plan‑spec environments.
Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid/Anywhere preferred).
Knowledge of engineering best practices and NEC (2020 and prior).
Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
