This position will be working out of our Rone Engineering division in Lenexa, KS.
Position Overview
Certerra is seeking a full-time Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Lenexa, KS team. Certerra/Rone Engineering is a small, collegial, and expanding geotechnical firm where people collaborate, innovate, build enduring relationships, and grow professionally. Job Responsibilities
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Certerra/ Rone, you will be responsible for managing small projects as well as managing discrete tasks within larger projects. In this role, you will be expected to:
- Scoping geotechnical investigations and preparing draft proposals and cost estimates;
- Managing and conducting field investigations; reviewing samples/core; ordering laboratory tests and preparing/reviewing/editing boring logs for investigations of any scale;
- Working directly with and managing sub-consultants;
- Performing and/or supervising engineering analyses;
- Preparing geotechnical investigation and geologic hazard reports;
- Reviewing plans and specifications for conformance with the intent of RMA’s geotechnical recommendations;
- Assisting in the managing, training, mentoring and supervision of staff-level engineers;
- Managing construction-phase services for projects; and
- Conducting onsite construction observation for engineering-related activities, if needed.
Certerra is seeking a well-rounded Professional Engineer, with experience on a variety of project types. The following minimum requirements apply to this position.
- U.S. Citizenship or legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Kansas State Licensed PE
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
