We are seeking a Geologist to join our growing Geotechnical Group in the Infrastructure Design Department. This mid‑level position will support design‑build and EPC projects across transportation, power, industrial, and oil & gas markets, working closely with Design Engineering, Design Management, Proposals, Estimating, and Integrated Project Controls teams.
Location:
Westlake, TX. Frequent travel to project sites as required.
Base Compensation: $76,000 – $80,000 per year (subject to variation by education, experience, and location).
Responsibilities- Provide project support during the proposal/bid phase; assess subsurface conditions to identify and develop solutions to geological and geotechnical problems.
- Work on design‑build and EPC projects for transportation, power, industrial, and oil & gas markets, including underground construction and tunneling.
- Perform or oversee desktop geologic studies, geologic mapping, subsurface investigations, field testing, and construction oversight.
- Produce engineering reports, drawings, and detailed calculation packages.
- BS in Geology.
- Minimum of 2 years of geology experience, particularly with subsurface explorations, logging borings, geotechnical and geophysical investigations.
- Strong knowledge of engineering geology, structural geology, geomorphology, hydrogeology, field mapping, geophysics, subsurface investigations, and GIS.
- Experience with boring log preparation, cross‑section or fence diagram development, block‑model software, or database management of subsurface data is desired but not required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with stakeholders.
- Physical ability to freely access all points of a construction site in varied climates and conditions; willingness to travel as needed.
- May require travel to project sites and occasional temporary duty assignments.
- Regular, reliable attendance.
- Work productively and meet deadlines promptly.
- Communicate and interact professionally with supervisors, employees, and others.
- Perform work safely and effectively; understand and follow oral and written instructions, warning signs, and equipment use policies.
- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within deadlines; overtime and weekends may be required.
