We are looking for a leader to provide finance, accounting and decision support to MBD finance and business customers. With a keen understanding of laws, tax regulations and compliance this role will support accounting, controls and compliance procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, consistent with US GAAP and local reporting requirements. This team uses innovative financial systems and controls, data security and robust processes to protect the company’s assets and support its short- and long-term global scaled growth.

In addition, the position holder will provide valuable decision support, lead PPI, and support functional development and business objectives.

You will have an opportunity to build strong interpersonal alliances to understand and mitigate risk, as well as bring together opportunities and provide valuable support to all business partners.

• Ensure local tax requirements supported by site teams are completed on a timely basis.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policy and standard operating procedure; recommend changes to strengthen control environment.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement and use systems to increase controls and efficiencies.
• Partner with functional and business leadership and peers in driving business performance to meet short and long term objectives.
• Lead and support monthly closing activities including journal entries, accruals, reporting and analysis processes.
• Identify and lead PPIs and deployment and systems implementations.
• Listen proactively and collaborate across functional lines.
• Other ad-hoc duties.
• Analyze financial and business performance against key business metrics and financial highlights that will enable understanding of progress against strategic / business plan and budgets.

• An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or Accounting is a plus.
• A global accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, ACA, CIMA) is required.
• Possess excellent academic credentials and strong financial competence.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to distill and translate technical concepts and US GAAP to non technical collaborators and vice versa.
• Experience in the Pharma or Life Sciences industry is a plus.
• The candidate should have a minimum of 4+ years of finance and accounting experience.
• Validated deep understanding of ERPs (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Hyperion) and data visualization and analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Cognos).
• Working understanding of financial accounting standards and internal controls.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill and translate technical concepts to non technical collaborators and vice versa.
