Systems Engineer, IT Support
The Searcher provides professional documentation search assistance to the Bureau of Trust Funds Administration (BTFA), including the Office of Trust Analysis and Research (OTAR). This position is focused on document research, search, collection, review, tagging/annotation, organization and information sharing activities to support the BTFA's work on the Boarding School Initiative (BSI).

Essential Requirements- Possesses or has the ability to obtain a Public trust clearance
- Knowledgeable in preservation and recall of historical records
- Microsoft Office skills with ability to quickly grasp specialized automated systems
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to understand historical documents
- Highly organized with ability to work on multiple projects
- Excellent customer service skills with ability to be self‑motivated
- Detail‑oriented with ability to quickly grasp business needs and issues
- Working knowledge of filing processes
- Ability to stay focused on assigned tasks in an open seating environment
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment toward the successful achievement of goals
- Assist with identifying, locating and securing available data/records necessary to conduct and support historical research efforts regarding the BSI
- Follow established processes for archiving and retaining work products
- Travel may be required
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Physical DemandsWork is performed primarily in an office environment with regular sitting. Use of hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls is required. Ability to talk and hear is necessary. Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required. Frequent lifting or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds is required.
May be required to lift, push or pull 50 pounds or more using cart or hand truck. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May work near moving or mechanical parts and may have exposure to chemicals, fumes, warehouse environment or adverse weather conditions. May be required to use safety and personal protective equipment.
