Position Overview

Blending Operator — Compounding Department, DaVinci Roofscapes

Schedule

Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (36–48 hours per week on rotating schedule).

Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM with $2.00 shift differential per hour, 36–48 hours per week on rotating schedule.

Job Summary

This position is primarily responsible for setting up, operating, and tending machines to mix or blend materials such as chemicals or color pigments. The operator will produce and supply quality compound materials for the injection molding department.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Observe production or monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to FIFO and Lock‑out Tag‑out (LOTO) principles
  • Fill in for the Compound Machine Operator during their absence, performing machine start‑up/shutdown, quality checks, and material changeovers
  • Weigh, measure, and load ingredients and check mixture for specified consistency
  • Add or mix chemicals or ingredients for processing
  • Assist the Compound Machine Operator in the start‑up and shutdown of operations as needed
  • Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing
  • Conduct tests and inspections of products to evaluate quality or performance
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One to three months related experience or training acceptable
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations Required
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Forklift certification required
  • Computer skills:
    Spreadsheet software (Excel) required
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Continually required to stand, walk, sit, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl. Occasionally required to lift or move up to 100 pounds. Noise level is usually loud. Requires working in high, precarious places.
