Overview
Print Press & Bindery Operator - 2nd Shift ft: 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday, 2:30pm - 10:30pm.
Responsible for operating various equipment to support manufacturing, packaging, and shipping a quality product. Tasks include running sheet-fed and digital presses, bindery equipment, other processing equipment, and shipping/packing. Follow standard operating procedures to ensure quality, work in a team to achieve daily goals. Some setups, changeovers, and basic manual operations may be required.
Responsibilities- Perform press setup: identify and load stock, set paper path and stretch, mount plates, die registration, adjust ink and water levels, ensure accurate single-color register, and configure attribute functions (e.g., perforations, numbering, file holes, thermo unit).
- Interpret order instructions and run press products to meet job requirements, including ink density, ink/water balance, color matching, and required attributes to customer standards.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues; adjust equipment (blanket changes, wash-up units, water system cleaning, roller settings) as needed.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance and cleaning to ensure product quality. Understand and use all press controls.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- HS/GED with 1 year of printing experience with similar equipment.
- Familiarity with product, equipment, printing process, and ink usage.
- Mechanical ability to operate and maintain press. Basic math, reading, and computer skills.
