Farm Laborer

The Farm Technician role involves working on a farm in Garnett, KS, where you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to animal care, farm upkeep, and machinery operation.

• Feed animals daily and provide care as needed.
• Set up equipment for bleeding, maneuver animals into shoots, bleed animals as needed, and clean area thoroughly.
• Assist with general farm upkeep including fence lines, drainage ditches, lawn, and house/farm repairs, including minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
• Provide basic feed and upkeep for animals on a weekend rotation basis.
• Operate company vehicles and machinery such as tractors, trucks, and loaders.
• Check farm for safety and security as needed.
• Use hand-held machinery, such as grinders, drills, and weed eaters for routine farm upkeep.
• Report any actual or potential safety hazards to the Supervisor, Human Resources, Safety Specialist, or Sr Management.

• General labor and farm hand experience.
• Animal handling expertise.
• Basic knowledge of farming and agriculture.
• Experience with power tools and machinery operation.
• Understanding of animal science and husbandry.

• High School Diploma (HSD) or GED.
• Basic exposure to hand tools and equipment from a farming environment.
• 1+ years of farm or general labor experience.
• Basic knowledge of English and math skills.
• Physical ability to walk up to 2 hours per day, stand for 8 hours, and lift up to 30 lbs.

This role is based in a farming environment with both outdoor and indoor elements, involving the care of animals. The position follows a day shift schedule from Monday to Friday.

This is a Permanent position based out of Lenexa, KS.

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $49920.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
