Are you an electrician, plumber, or skilled trades apprentice looking to take your hands‑on expertise into a high‑earning sales career? EFC International is looking for an Outside Sales Representative to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone with field experience who enjoys solving problems, working with tools and components, and building strong customer relationships. If you’re someone who understands how things get built and wants to use that knowledge to grow a lucrative territory, this role is for you.
In this position, you’ll manage and grow your assigned territory by selling fasteners and specialty components to industrial and distribution customers. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential. Experience with P21 or CRM systems is helpful, but we’ll train you; your trade knowledge is what matters most.
What You’ll Do- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision‑makers in purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and quality departments.
- Use your trade background to help customers choose the right components for their job sites and applications.
- Travel throughout your territory to meet with current and prospective customers.
- Communicate effectively through phone, email, text, and virtual meetings to promote EFC/ISC products, win new business, and resolve issues.
- Conduct regular account reviews to ensure customer needs are met and aligned with business goals.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including cold calling and lead generation.
- Provide technical product support and offer engineered solutions for customer applications.
- Help customers improve performance, control costs, and solve design or installation challenges.
- Work with customers and suppliers to test and validate designs through prototypes or simulations.
- Collaborate with Inside Sales, NBD, Sourcing, Purchasing, and Quality teams to support customer success.
- Keep CRM, P21, and other systems accurate and up to date.
- Prepare call reports and submit expense reports on time.
- A background in the trades (electrician, plumbing, HVAC, general construction, or industrial maintenance) is highly valued.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Self‑motivated and able to manage time effectively while traveling.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Comfortable with moderate to extensive travel, including driving and occasional air travel.
- A strong earning path with the ability to grow a territory and build long‑term customer relationships.
- Training in P21 and CRM systems—no prior experience needed.
