Staffing by Starboard is seeking a driven and outgoing
Sales Representative to help grow our client base across the Kansas City area. In this role, you’ll be responsible for generating new business through proactive outreach efforts including cold calling, door-to-door visits, and attending networking events. You will serve as the point of contact for potential clients, introducing them to our staffing services, gathering key information about their hiring needs, and closing deals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a designated sales territory to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities via cold calls, in-person visits, and local events
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads
- Clearly communicate Staffing by Starboard’s value proposition to potential clients
- Collaborate with the Managing Partner to finalize agreements and ensure a smooth handoff
- Track outreach activity, client interactions, and deal progress
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective promotional strategies
- Log leads and interactions into Hub Spot
Qualifications:
- Experience in sales or business development (staffing or service industry experience a plus)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly
- Comfortable with cold outreach methods including phone calls, in-person visits, and networking
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently
- Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage a pipeline and follow up effectively
- Professional and confident demeanor, especially in face-to-face and client interactions
- Ability to learn and articulate service offerings clearly and persuasively
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally for prospecting and events
- Basic computer skills and comfort using CRM tools or sales tracking systems
Compensation:
- Commission structure based on total hours worked by employees placed at businesses you help bring on
