Overview
As a Product Engineer within our Enclosures Engineering team, you will join a group that supports the future infrastructure, construction, and development across North America. Hubbell underground and above ground engineered enclosures has been the industry leader for more than 40 years. We are seeking an innovative and skilled engineer with demonstrated abilities to design mechanical and structural products. You will work in a diverse and cross-functional team to design robust and cost-effective solutions for electric utilities, commercial and industrial applications, communications, as well as water and gas systems.
A successful team member will design new products and also interact with manufacturing operations, product marketing, sales, and customer support to achieve business objectives.

- Design and support of polymer concrete, fiberglass, and plastic enclosures.
- Research and develop innovative ideas and concepts for new enclosure products and processes.
- Define enclosure specifications, validation criteria, failure modes and effects, and proper applications.
- Create and introduce improvements to enhance designs, performance, and costs of existing products.
- Concept, prototype, validate, and create new enclosures, enclosure molds, and design modifications.
- Identify, support, and initiate quality and safety improvements.
- Support customer inquiries, custom design requests, sales opportunities, and customer applications.
- Provide technical knowledge for creation of test procedures, manufacturing of products, and data assessment.
- 4-year degree in Engineering. Composite, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering degree preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in product development, design, or a related field.
- Experience in a continuous improvement manufacturing environment.
- Experience in using CAD based design software with Finite Element Analysis modeling.
- Excellent MS Office applications skills.
