Registered Nurse, Critical Care Unit

Position Summary
Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

• Correlate patient history and support systems across continuum of care.
• Complete nursing history and initiate patient education.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate patient care.
• Implement plan of care appropriate to diagnosis and patient needs, evaluate outcomes.
• Problem‑solve and coordinate unit/patient care assignments with supervision.
• Introduce new employees/students to unit routines.
• Demonstrate active participation in unit or facility activities.
• Demonstrate competence in performing critical skills, including age‑specific care.
• Supervise LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs and sitters.
• Follow policies, procedures and safety standards; complete required education assignments annually.
• Work toward achieving goals and objectives, and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

None specified; must meet standards for licensure required by the issuing authority.

New graduate, within first year of orientation (move to level II after one year of experience).

Must have and maintain Tennessee State nursing license. CPR required. RN license.
