Overview
Summary:
Repair of hulls and/or decks to Cobalt standards while following safety protocols.
- Wipe down, buff, and inspect each part to identify flaws or damage. This includes manually wiping parts with towel and acetone, buffing to remove wax and compound, and marking flaws with grease pencil.
- Sand and buff problem areas to create a smooth, shiny surface using manual sanding or power tools, followed by buffing with an air-powered buffer.
- Cut flaws out of fiberglass to remove damaged areas using a router or razor blade. Mix gel coat and catalyst and fill holes with the mixture using a tongue depressor.
- Paint over thin or damaged areas of gel coat to create a flawless surface.
- Correct crooked paint lines to create straight paint lines.
- Repair major areas in hull or deck to correct errors made during cutting.
- Repair and finesse boat areas damaged during assembly or at the end of the production line.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsVerbal instruction and comprehension are key. Ability to read and interpret documented procedures.
Mathematical SkillsBasic math.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to recognize and solve problems on the go.
