At Barkside Lodge, we're excited to welcome a full-time or part-time Experienced Kennel Technician to our team in Lenoir City, TN.

This role offers guaranteed pay of $18/hour with customer tips, and when tips are down, we make sure you're still covered.

THE GROWTH YOU HELP PROVIDE AS AN EXPERIENCED KENNEL TECHNICIAN

As an Experienced Kennel Technician, your schedule will vary within our operating hours of 6 AM to 9 PM
. Flexibility is key, as you will be required to work most holidays and weekends.

In this role, you will spend your day caring for the animals entrusted to us, ensuring their well‑being from the moment they arrive until the time they leave. You will provide feeding, watering, and medicating according to each pet’s schedule and needs. You will clean, sanitize, and maintain kennels, cages, and common areas so that every pet has a safe and hygienic space.

Throughout the day, you will monitor each animal’s health and behavior, reporting any changes or concerns to management or veterinary staff. You will lead play sessions and exercise time, making sure every dog and cat has the socialization and enrichment they need. You will assist with intake, transfers, and discharge, and also help with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trims.

Along the way, you will update pet owners on their pets' well‑being and keep our facility running smoothly by completing janitorial duties, including laundry and trash removal.

OUR IDEAL EXPERIENCED KENNEL TECHNICIAN
  • 2+ years of dog boarding, dog daycare, or veterinary experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Flexible schedule availability within 6 AM – 9 PM
  • Willingness to work on holidays and weekends
  • Strong attention to detail and a team‑oriented mindset
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and leash walk dogs up to 150 lbs
