UNC Caldwell is the choice for health care in Caldwell County, NC. The 137-bed licensed acute care hospital includes 110 medical and 27 psychiatric beds and is a member of the UNC Health System. The Emergency Department sees approximately 30,000 visits a year. UNC Caldwell provides the majority of primary care and select specialty care to the surrounding market from thirteen separate medical park locations throughout the county.

The Caldwell team is seeking a highly passionate PA or NP to join this new service line focused on weight management and the overall health of patients.

• Full-time, with 36 patient contact hours per week. Monday
  - Friday (potentially half day on Friday)

• Duties:
  This brand-new service line will focus on weight management and the overall health of patients. This will include: health assessments, education, nutrition support, exercise guidance and medication support. The APP will have its own panel of patients that will mostly be referred by primary care providers (the clinic will also accept self-referrals). Additionally, the APP will be present at the same hours as the cardiopulmonary rehab classes for supervisory purposes.
  
  No after-hours call is required.
• Requirements: must have BLS certification, must have Weight Loss Certification to satisfy payer requirements- Obesity Medicine Association, Certificate of Advanced Education in Obesity Medicine | Obesity Medicine Association
• Staff & Space: 1 APP on-site with physician oversight offered but not on sight regularly. The APP will work closely with the coach on site who will write weekly exercise programming as well as nutrition consults. Office space will include a waiting area, 1 exam room, provider office, MA station, check-in and triage space. Opening date is scheduled for 7/1/25.

  Charlotte Douglas International Airport; the eclectic attractions of Asheville; the arts and history of Winston-Salem; and only 20 minutes to the North Carolina High Country and the mountain seasonal resort community of Blowing Rock
