Level 2 Data Center Technician (Hi-Fiber Project)
Travel Requirement: 75% Nationwide Travel | 25% Local/Home Market Work
Position OverviewNTT is building a specialized "Tiger Team" of experienced Level 2 Data Center Technicians to support Google's nationwide Hi-Fiber Project . This initiative focuses on replacing legacy coaxial cabling infrastructure with fiber optic cabling across multiple Google data center locations.
The Tiger Team will be the first group deployed to new project sites, spending approximately 6-8 weeks establishing processes, procedures, and project standards to ensure successful execution. Once a site is operational and transitioned to long-term project teams, the Tiger Team will move to the next Google data center location.
During periods between travel assignments, technicians will be assigned to support Google data center operations within their home market.
This role requires experienced data center professionals who can contribute immediately with minimal supervision and possess strong troubleshooting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Support Google's Hi-Fiber infrastructure upgrade projects.
- Remove and replace legacy coaxial cabling with fiber optic infrastructure.
- Perform rack and stack activities for network and server equipment.
- Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, and cabling-related issues.
- Establish project workflows, procedures, and best practices at new project sites.
- Collaborate with data center teams to ensure successful project deployment and execution.
- Support ongoing data center operations in local markets when not traveling.

- Previous experience working in hyperscale or enterprise data center environments.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
- Experience leading or mentoring junior technicians is a plus.
- Must be comfortable with up to 75% nationwide travel.
- Typical travel assignments are expected to last up to two weeks at a time before returning home.
- All travel arrangements will be coordinated by NTT.
- Approved travel expenses will be reimbursed by NTT.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to travel by airplane and/or vehicle without restrictions.
