** Description of Work
** The Registered Nurse position will provide the performance of professional nursing care and treatment in accordance with medical protocols. Will develop nursing care plans based on diagnosis and pertinent medical information. Will meet patient and family needs such as conducting nursing assessments; developing, implementing and evaluating treatment plans and providing patient care and education. Works independently to carry out nursing care processes and sets up an environment to assist patients in obtaining maximum level of functioning or recovery.
Serves as a "Charge Nurse", overseeing the daily nursing care activities on an assigned shift or in a preceptor role. Administers medications and treatments as directed by a Physician, and coordinates all licensed and non-licensed staff duties.

** Salary Range: $58,898.00 - $88,348.00
Recruitment Range: $70,000.00 - $88,348.00 A Sign-on bonus of $10,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the Budget Approval.

** Ability to independently plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
* Knowledge of medications and the physiological effect of those medications.
* Ability to communicate information in a concise and descriptive manner, verbally, written, or by demonstration.
* Ability to appropriately respond to emergency situations.
* Ability to lead a team.

** Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus
** To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus,
* a* newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.

* * eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
* The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)
* The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency
* DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
