Food Service Worker - Lenoir-Rhyne University at Aramark

The Food Service Worker will assist the manager with food/meal preparation, maintain cash receipts and meal records, and complete daily reports. The role ensures high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices.

• Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu.
• Prepare a daily report verifying transactions.
• Understand the components of a meal to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure proper storage of food in a sanitary manner.
• Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies, and procedures.
• Use and care for kitchen equipment, especially knives.
• Prepare a variety of food items and beverages in a timely manner.
• Add garnishments to enhance customer satisfaction and visual appeal.
• Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage.
• Adhere to the uniform policy.
• Communicate daily with the Manager to understand and prepare the menu for the day.
• Maintain food temperature requirements.
• Keep the work and storage area clean and organized.
• Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment.
• Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and ware washing.
• Maintain garbage collection sites and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Physical demands may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing. Uniforms and/or PPE may be required.

• Food Service Certificate or equivalent.
• Education or training sufficient to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
