Job DescriptionThe Food Service Worker will assist the manager with food/meal preparation, maintain cash receipts and meal records, and complete daily reports. The role ensures high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices.
Job Responsibilities- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu.
- Prepare a daily report verifying transactions.
- Understand the components of a meal to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure proper storage of food in a sanitary manner.
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies, and procedures.
- Use and care for kitchen equipment, especially knives.
- Prepare a variety of food items and beverages in a timely manner.
- Add garnishments to enhance customer satisfaction and visual appeal.
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage.
- Adhere to the uniform policy.
- Communicate daily with the Manager to understand and prepare the menu for the day.
- Maintain food temperature requirements.
- Keep the work and storage area clean and organized.
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment.
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and ware washing.
- Maintain garbage collection sites and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Physical demands may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing. Uniforms and/or PPE may be required.
- Food Service Certificate or equivalent.
- Education or training sufficient to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
