Construction Estimator

Exterior Construction | Full Time | Field Based

We are a recruitment and staffing company hiring on behalf of an established exterior construction company.

We are seeking an experienced construction professional who can inspect properties, build accurate estimates, manage exterior projects in the field, control materials and budgets, and represent the company professionally with clients and property managers.

• Starting at $1,200 per week
• Company vehicle provided for job site visits and project travel
• After training and proven performance, compensation may be reviewed and renegotiated, including a higher weekly salary, performance bonus, or participation in project margins.

• Inspect condominium and residential properties, identify repair needs, and document field conditions with measurements and photos.
• Prepare clear scopes of work and accurate estimates for labor, materials, equipment, permits, dumpsters, subcontractors, and other project costs.
• Review estimates before submission to reduce missed items, hidden conditions, and unnecessary cost exposure.
• After project approval, visit job sites regularly and verify that crews follow scope, schedule, quality standards, and company expectations.
• Coordinate with foremen, carpenters, painters, subcontractors, suppliers, and management.
• Track project progress, identify extra work, document changes, create punch lists, and support final walkthroughs.

• Create material lists and calculate quantities accurately.
• Compare estimated versus actual cost and monitor labor and material spending.
• Identify potential cost overruns early and help protect project margins.
• Control scope changes and avoid undocumented extra work.

• Strong hands on knowledge of exterior construction and renovation.
• Deck construction and repairs, including structural framing, stairs, railings, composite decking, and pressure treated systems.
• Siding, exterior trim, fascia, soffit, PVC trim, wood rot repairs, and exterior carpentry.
• Exterior painting, deck staining, pressure washing, priming, and paint systems.
• Working knowledge of roofing repairs, flashing, water infiltration, building envelope issues, and basic window and door installation.

• Communicate professionally with clients, property managers, and property representatives.
• Explain construction issues and repair solutions clearly during inspections and walkthroughs.
• Make sound field decisions, manage multiple projects, and solve problems before they become rework.
• Maintain organized photo documentation, project notes, schedules, and material information.

• Proven construction experience and strong exterior construction knowledge.
• Ability to take measurements, calculate materials, understand budgets, and manage several projects.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and availability to travel between job sites.
• Comfort working in construction environments, climbing ladders, and accessing inspection areas.

• Condominium, HOA, or property management projects.
• Large scale exterior renovation, roofing, window, door, or building envelope projects.
• Estimating or project management software, blueprints, permits, inspections, and supplier coordination.
• Experience with Trex, Timber Tech, or Sherwin Williams products. Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
