CDL-A Truck Driver

Overview

NALCO Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking a Customer Delivery Specialist to support Fleet Operations. The role involves providing customer delivery of chemicals as a DOT driving professional, safely operating a straight truck over various road conditions, and performing preventive maintenance on delivery vehicles that transport chemicals to customers, plants, and warehouse locations.

• Tractor-trailer chemical delivery
• Delivery within a 500 to 700-mile radius from plant location
• Safely operate delivery vehicles including trucks, tank trunks, and over-the-road trucks
• Maintain hours of service using Samsara and/or paper logbooks
• Schedule daily runs to meet customer delivery requirements
• Perform daily and periodic mechanical and safety inspections to keep truck and equipment in safe, operable condition
• Maintain up-to-date delivery location maps and comply with DOT regulations for transportation of hazardous materials and homeland security guidelines
• Maintain regular communication with sales and supervisor to report field problems and safety hazards
• Follow Zero Defect Delivery procedures for all assignments
• Wear appropriate safety gear during delivery operations
• Stay current on safety techniques and opportunities to improve driving and safety skills
• Recognize and avoid safety hazards in the work environment

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Haz Mat & Tanker endorsements (no restrictions)
• 3 years of commercial driving experience, compliant with FMCSA and DOT regulations in the past 3 years
• 3 years of acceptable motor vehicle record
• Ability to travel 3-5 days per week; home on weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs
• No immigration sponsorship offered for this role

• Experience operating forklifts, drum dollies, trailer hoists, chemical pumps, hoses, meters, printers, and gauges
• Experience handling products in bulk, drums, Porta-Feeds, and mini/micro-feed units
• Ability to back and parallel park bulk tankers, straight trucks, semi-trucks, and trailers into narrow spaces
• Knowledge of equipment compliant with FMCSA and DOT hazardous materials regulations
