The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) invites applications for a full-time Accounting faculty position on our Leonardtown, MD campus. This is an opportunity to use your knowledge, education, and expertise to make a difference by helping to prepare students for entry-level positions in Accounting and gain the necessary skills to obtain an in-demand job. Our faculty serve a vital role in growing our community, regional, and national workforce needs.

We are an innovative institution committed to student success and well known for our flexibility to meet student and regional community needs. We are seeking a forward-looking, collaborative educator to join our Accounting faculty. This position will require teaching a combination of entry level courses such as, but not limited to Principles of Accounting 1 & 2, as well as other courses which may include Intermediate Accounting 1 & 2, Federal Income Tax 1 for Individuals, or Business Finance.

Our faculty teach face-to-face, online, hybrid, and Hy-flex classes always focusing on student engagement and critical thinking. CSM offers excellent health insurance benefits (90% paid by the college);

CSM has highly skilled and creative faculty who incorporate the latest teaching approaches and technology into their instructional delivery. Our faculty work closely with students inside and outside of the classroom and serve as advisors to student clubs and more.

The Business Programs, including the Accounting Program, at the College of Southern Maryland are nationally accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs. Additionally, Diverse Issues in Higher Education ranked CSM’s Business Programs among the Top 100 in the following categories:

  • African American Accounting graduates
Since this position requires in-person teaching and other in-person faculty duties, the candidate will be required to live within commuting distance of the Southern Maryland area.
