Community Health Educator PRN

Med Star Health is looking for a Community Health Educator to join our team at Med Star St. Mary's Hospital. As a Community Health Educator, you will work in partnership with local communities and Clinical Health Educators to design, implement, and evaluate health promotion, prevention, and education programs.

• Facilitate/teach/staff various community-based health education programs, health and wellness events and support groups. Perform various health screenings, including phlebotomy, flu vaccinations and point-of-care testing.
• Provide coverage (when assigned) for in-patient hospital rounding, for delivery of patient education, out-patient support coordination and family/caregiver engagement. Adhere to Health Connections PRN policy.
• Work on assigned grant related projects, to include collection and reporting of identified data points and outcome measurements. Required to communicate with Health Connections leadership, with timely response to monthly schedules and departmental requests.
• Required to staff a minimum of 24 events/classes annually, of which, four will be weekend events, including Delicado's Women's Wellness Day.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and participate in the development and promotion of clinical practices following Med Star St. Mary's Hospital observed Standards of Care.

• Bachelor’s degree in health-related field or associate degree in health-related field with 10 years' experience.
• 1-2 years' experience in adult education/training.
