American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2+ years of recent telemetry/stepdown experience and at least one completed travel assignment.

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
• PCU is a 15-bed unit, Med Surg is a 44-bed unit, and Telemetry is a 34-bed unit
• IMC ratio is 1:4 and MS/Tele ratio is 1:5-6
• Float required between IMC and medical units, occasionally covering medicine/IMC level boarders in the ED and ICU
• Weekend and holiday shifts required per hospital needs
• Clinicians report to the staffing office for float assignments

• Active RN license, compact or MD license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
• Experience in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Telemetry, ER Holding, Cardiac Telemetry, and MS/Tele required
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the past 3 years
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Flu vaccine required
• Charting system experience required (any EMR)
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, blood product administration, respiratory management, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management

• Provide telemetry and stepdown-level nursing care across PCU, IMC, and MS/Tele units
• Scrubs not provided; required color is Caribbean Blue
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Previous Med Star employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not eligible; prior travel assignment experience is required
