Living & Working in Shetland invites applications for the Relief Bank for Teachers (Primary and Secondary) position. This role is part of a relief bank that provides teaching support across schools in Shetland on an as‑needed basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide cover for teachers at short notice due to staff absence or other circumstances.
• Maintain readiness to work at short notice while residing in Shetland.
• Attend scheduled interviews and complete recruitment checks, including references, PVG Scheme membership, General Teaching Council for Scotland registration, qualification verification, and proof of UK work eligibility.

Key Qualifications and Requirements

• Resident in Shetland before being cleared to work.
• Required to join or update the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
• Must register with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) prior to placement.
• Flexible to work on an as‑required basis.
• No relocation package applicable.
• Provide references from two unrelated individuals.

Pay

£22.15 to £32.49 per hour inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance.
