Overview
As a Learning Support Worker you will assist in the management and education of children and young people with additional support needs (ASN). The role may involve working with any child or group of children, including those with severe and complex needs, either within the department or in mainstream classes, following an individualised education programme. You will work alongside and with specific guidance from teachers and collaborate with specialists such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and child psychologists.
Responsibilities- Assist with the implementation of individualised education programmes for children and young people with ASN.
- Work in partnership with teachers and specialists to support children’s educational progress.
The grade of this post is G/H. The position is temporary, 12 months until 15th August 2027, for 30 hours per week on a pro‑rated 39‑week school-year plus 6.24 weeks paid holiday taken during school holidays. Salary includes a Distant Islands Allowance of £1.5523 per hour. This post is not career graded and is offered to either a Qualified or Unqualified Learning Support Worker depending on assessment against the person specification.
Requirements- Preferred candidates will be required to join or update their status on the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
- A relocation package does not apply to this post.
