Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and inspiring Teacher of Physical Education to work at Anderson High School in Lerwick, Shetland Islands. The position is temporary part‑time (21.0 hours per week) and will be on contract until 15 August 2027.

• Registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) before starting in post.
• Experience working as a Physical Education teacher in a secondary school.
• Vision, energy, initiative, good communication skills and self‑discipline.

• Post grade: TCHR
• Inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £1.8219 per hour.
• Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to offer.
• Flexible route probationers welcome.
• Relocation package does not apply.
• Interview expenses from within Shetland will be paid.
• Flexible working arrangements possible.
