Staff Nurse - Ward 1/HDU

Rotational post requiring both day and night shift working. Substantive, full-time 36 hours per week. Band 5 – Salary Range £34,544 – £43,039 per annum. Plus Distant Island Allowance of £2,578 per annum and relocation assistance up to £8,000.

Our surgical ward provides care to adult and paediatric patients from a wide range of specialities including ENT, Ophthalmology, Max Fax, Dental, Orthopaedic, paediatric, as well as general surgery. This busy, diverse ward has 22 beds and incorporates a 2‑betted critical care unit.

• Provide all aspects of care for patients undergoing surgery, both as emergencies and list admissions.
• Ensure a safe and effective environment for delivery of care to adults and children.
• Provide excellent care from admission to discharge.
• Participate in ward audit, clinical quality indicators and safety data collection.
• Maintain flexibility to work in other areas of the organisation, either hospital or community‑based.

• Registered General Nurse.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Previous surgical experience is an advantage (not required).
