Why This Role Matters

What You'll Be Doing
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records relating to damp and mould cases, property hazards and compliance activity.
  • Monitor, track and support the resolution of reported damp and mould issues, ensuring actions are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Carry out inspections related to damp, mould and general health and safety, including pre- and post-works checks.
  • Support Housing Officers in implementing actions arising from inspections, risk assessments and contractor reports.
  • Liaise with contractors to coordinate remedial works and monitor progress to completion.
  • Maintain central compliance records including fire safety, damp and mould actions and inspection outcomes.
  • Conduct regular visual inspections and compliance checks across shared and general needs housing.
  • Support residents to understand health, safety and damp prevention guidance, escalating concerns where required.
  • Assist with enforcement activity, including documenting breaches and preparing follow-up correspondence.
  • Provide compliance information to support risk assessments and internal reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, contributing to team objectives and service improvement.
What We're Looking For

  • Experience dealing with damp and mould issues, property hazards or compliance activity.
  • Strong inspection and record-keeping skills, with confidence using spreadsheets and databases.
  • Experience carrying out and documenting property or accommodation inspections.
  • Knowledge of health & safety procedures within housing settings.
  • Confident, customer-focused communication skills when working with tenants and contractors.
  • Strong organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage workloads to deadlines.
