Environmental Protection and Housing Technical Officer

Contract Type:
Permanent (Full Time)

Salary: £30,246 to 40,612 plus frequent car user allowance of £1,239 per annum, depending on experience (pay award pending)

Our Environmental Health Service plays a vital role in protecting residents  well-being, and ensuring homes and communities meet high standards.

As a Technical Officer within the Environmental Protection & Housing Team, you will investigate statutory nuisance complaints, housing disrepair and other environmental health issues.

You ll carry out inspections, gather evidence, support enforcement activities, assist with planning and licensing consultations, and help deliver housing assistance and energy efficiency schemes.

This is a varied role offering the opportunity to make a real difference to communities across the district.

The Experience you will bring

We re looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, a customer-focused approach and an interest in Environmental Health.

Whether you re starting your Environmental Health career, working towards relevant qualifications, or already have experience in housing, environmental protection or another regulatory field, we d love to hear from you.

This role operates within a career-graded scheme offering a clear pathway for progression based on qualifications, experience and performance.

You ll receive tailored training, professional development and support to build your expertise across housing, environmental protection and wider Environmental Health services.

You will also need a full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle for business use and the flexibility to work occasional evenings when required
