Internal Account Manager – Packaging

Manage existing customer accounts, process enquiries and quotations, follow up opportunities and provide day-to-day support to customers, working alongside our external sales team.

Working alongside the external sales team, the Internal Account Manager will manage existing customer accounts, process enquiries and quotations, follow up opportunities, develop lower-spend accounts and provide day-to-day support to customers.

The person should already understand things such as corrugated board grades, box styles, dimensions, bespoke packaging, minimum quantities, lead times and general packaging products. Experience with in a packaging manufacturer, merchant or distributor would be particularly relevant.

• Manage and develop existing customer accounts, acting as their main day-to-day point of contact.
• Process incoming enquiries and prepare accurate quotations in a timely manner.
• Follow up on quotes and outstanding opportunities to secure orders.
• Identify and develop lower-spend accounts to grow their value over time.
• Provide day-to-day support to customers, handling queries, orders and any issues that arise.
• Work closely with the external sales team, production and operations to deliver a seamless service.
• Identify additional sales opportunities within existing accounts through a commercially aware approach.

• Packaging industry experience – essential.
• Experience managing B2B customer accounts.
• Confident preparing quotations and following up enquiries.
• Strong telephone and customer-service skills.
• Commercially aware and comfortable identifying additional sales opportunities.
• Good attention to detail when dealing with specifications, dimensions and pricing.
• Comfortable working with external salespeople, production and operations.
• Experience with corrugated packaging would be a major advantage.
