FLT Driver

Location: Letchworth Garden City

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a manufacturing business in Leeds to recruit an FLT Driver to join their team, supporting the safe and efficient movement, storage and despatch of finished goods. Based within the despatch and warehouse area, this is a varied, hands-on role involving forklift truck operation, loading and unloading vehicles, preparing customer orders and ensuring products are ready for delivery on time.

The successful candidate will be organised, safety-conscious and comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment.

Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Role – FLT Driver As an FLT Driver, your responsibilities will include:
Operating a counterbalance forklift truck to move and store finished goods safely. Loading and unloading incoming and outgoing vehicles. Preparing and processing customer orders accurately and efficiently. Filling drums and handling packaged products in line with company procedures. Ensuring goods are correctly labelled, stored and prepared for despatch. Maintaining accurate stock records and completing the necessary paperwork. Using computer systems to print labels and update order information.

Working closely with production, warehouse, customer service and transport teams to ensure deliveries are completed on time. Reporting damaged goods, stock discrepancies, shortages or quality concerns to the relevant manager. Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment. Following all health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements and safe manual handling practices. Supporting other areas of the operation when required.

What We're Looking For To be considered for this FLT Driver position, you will ideally have: A valid counterbalance FLT licence. Previous experience in a warehouse, despatch, logistics or manufacturing environment. Good basic computer skills and the ability to use warehouse or stock management systems. Basic numeracy and literacy skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling orders and stock.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. The ability to follow procedures and complete paperwork accurately. A responsible approach to health and safety. A flexible attitude and willingness to support different areas of the business when needed. What's on Offer? £30,000 per annum. Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm. 23 days' annual holiday, plus bank holidays and a Christmas shutdown.
