The incumbent also fulfills the role of the Alberta Council of Admissions and Transfer Contact Persons’ Assistant to facilitate agreements with other ACAT institutions. In addition, this person will support the development of articulation agreements across Canada as well as internationally.
The Prior Learning Specialist will coordinate prior learning requests with students and academic areas as well as with external agencies. The individual will work closely with the Center for Teaching and Learning to evaluate and build equivalencies for micro-credentials.
The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the college’s academic calendar.
The incumbent must possess effective communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and technical skills and be service oriented as well as be familiar with post-secondary programming at both colleges and universities in order to fulfill job requirements. Position Details
1. Review course outlines submitted by applicants for equivalency review at Lethbridge College.
2. Facilitates both incoming and outgoing program transfer agreements.
3. Updates all publication in regards to program transferability and ensures website is updated accordingly.
4. Assist as needed at recruitment events to answer transfer credit inquiries.
5. Facilitate all pre-set prior learning requests and work with external agencies to facilitate prior learning requests. Help coordinate prior learning requests with appropriate academic area.
6. Evaluate and build laddering opportunities for micro-credentials.
7. Assist producing the academic calendar by updating all program and curriculum changes within the calendar software.
Required Qualifications
• University Undergraduate degree.
• Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Effective time management, information management and organizational skills.
• Strong technical proficiency.
