Requires a temporary, part-time 0.6 FTE (3 days/week or 24 hours/week) Occupational Therapist. The location of this assignment includes the following campuses:
Estevan, La Ronge, Swift Current, Saskatoon, Kenaston, Yorkton, Moose Jaw, Regina, Prince Albert, Nipawin and Meadow Lake.
- Reporting to the Superintendent of Student Supports, the Occupational Therapist (OT) provides services that support students in developing the physical, sensory, and motor skills needed for participation and success in school and daily activities.
- Works collaboratively with educators, families, and other professionals to support students in both academic and functional skill development.
- Services may include assessment, intervention, consultation, and program planning, with delivery online and in-person formats.
- Also plays a key role in building the capacity of school staff and families through professional learning, coaching, and resource development.
- Work collaboratively with the Student Support Team to support the Response to Intervention/Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support (RTI/MTSS) framework, addressing students' fine motor, sensory processing, self‑regulation, and daily living skills.
- Conduct timely occupational therapy assessments (including tele-assessment) and provide evidence‑based intervention strategies.
- Deliver direct and consultative therapy services using tele practice platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams) to support student access and participation.
- Collaborate with teachers and Student Support Teachers to integrate strategies into classroom or daily routines and develop accommodation or assistive tools.
- Develop and share information materials, home programs, and strategies to support parents.
- Provide capacity‑building opportunities for school staff, including modeling strategies and leading professional learning sessions.
