Lethbridge Collegiate Institute (LCI) - Mathematics Teacher - Grade 9 - 11
Temporary - FTE: 1.00
The expected start date is August 25, 2026, and is anticipated to complete on June 29, 2027, or will be based upon the return of the incumbent.
The competition will remain open until June 15, 2026 at 9:00am.
Professional Competencies- Demonstrates a sound understanding of diverse learning contexts and the variables that influence student success, including cultural, social, and individual factors;
- Possesses deep knowledge of subject disciplines and applies evidence-based pedagogical approaches that reflect current best practices in elementary education;
- Shows proficiency in curriculum planning, formative and summative assessment strategies, and differentiated instructional practices that meet diverse learning needs;
- Implements effective classroom management strategies that foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment where all students can thrive;
- Integrates technology purposefully and effectively to enhance teaching and learning experiences;
- Embodies the qualities of a reflective professional, actively engaging in ongoing professional learning aligned with Alberta's Teaching Quality Standard (TQS);
- Demonstrates commitment to building and maintaining respectful, professional relationships within the school community;
- Values and actively participates in collaborative practice and teamwork with colleagues, students, and families;
- Contributes actively to school culture, student activities, and extracurricular programs while developing effective partnerships within the school and broader community.
- Ability to support students in the areas of high school Mathematics.
- Strong ability to collaborate within a Mathematics department.
- Willingness to bring new and innovative approaches to the classroom.
- Willingness to be a part of a positive school culture and support students both in and out of the classroom.
- Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
- A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
- A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
- Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
- Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
