The Centre for Trades and Technologies is seeking a highly motivated, organized individual with excellent communication skills to instruct in our Sheet Metal programs. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for delivering excellent theoretical and hands‑on instruction and curriculum maintenance using Lethbridge Polytechnic resources. This is a full‑time temporary position for the 2026‑2027 academic year, with the possibility of extension.

- First year will involve program development (first year of the program will start fall 2027)
- Instruct various essential portions of the program (Lecture, Lab, CBAT, Dual Credit, etc.)
- Promote the program and facilitate recruitment of students
- Manage class schedules
- Track student progress and implement interventions as needed
- Content development and ongoing updates and maintenance
- Use Canvas learning management system and Mobius testing programs
- Answer and respond to in‑person, telephone, and email inquiries
- Purchase of materials and equipment
- Provide reports and updates to the Associate Dean as needed
- Establish and maintain critical relationships with key partners and stakeholders
- Administrative tasks as needed
- Alberta Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker Certification, with a minimum of five years’ experience in the trade
- Strong diagnostic skills
- Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software plus an aptitude to learn new software applications and systems
- Self‑motivated and ability to work positively in a team environment
- Previous formal and/or informal teaching experience is considered an asset
- Red Seal Certification is considered an asset
Salary commensurate with education and experience according to the current Faculty Collective Agreement.
