Two Educational Assistants

Overview

F.P. Walshe School in Fort Macleod, Alberta, serving grades 6‑12 with approximately 400 students, seeks two full‑time Educational Assistants beginning August 25, 2026.

Under the direction of the Learning Support Teacher, the Educational Assistants will provide one‑on‑one and small‑group support to students, assist in meeting goals outlined in each student’s learning plan, and deliver in‑class support for students with Individual Student Plans (ISPs).

• Experience working with students in one‑on‑one, small‑group, and inclusive classroom settings
• Ability to build relationships with students who require patience and flexibility
• Experience and training with students having a range of diagnoses, from Autism to complex behaviours
• Ability to collaborate with Learning Support Team members
• Experience or training working with First Nations cultures
• Physical fitness to meet the demands of working with students with complex needs
• Educational Assistant certification and/or Health Care Aide certification or equivalent (asset)
• NVCI and/or SIVA training (asset)
