TEACHER – CARE Campus
The CARE Outreach Campus provides a highly supportive and relationship-centered learning environment for students with diverse academic, social-emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs. The successful candidate will act as the inclusive education liaison for both CARE Campus and Trinity Learning Centre. This assignment is planned to commence August 25, 2026 and terminate June 30, 2027. This position is covered by the ATA collective agreement.
Responsibilities- Act as the inclusive education liaison for CARE Campus and Trinity Learning Centre.
- Collaborate with students, families, schools, and community agencies to create individualized programming that fosters student success, well-being, and re-engagement in learning.
- Support active student participation in the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individual Program Plans (IPPs) with emphasis on voice, choice, self-regulation, and personal growth.
- Contribute to an adaptable and individualized approach to education to support students who may experience barriers to success in traditional school settings.
- Collaborate with professional and support staff within a Christ-centered educational environment, promoting safe, inclusive learning experiences.
- Eligibility for Alberta Teaching Certification;
- Minimum three years of teaching experience;
- Strong commitment to Catholic Education;
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed and relationship-based educational practices;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams;
- Experience supporting students with complex behavioural, mental health, and social-emotional needs;
- Ability to plan and implement cross-curricular, individualized, and flexible programming to support student success;
- Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring IPPs, Behaviour Support Plans, and individualized interventions;
- Ability to lead and collaborate with support staff in implementing individualized learning opportunities and strategies;
- Experience collaborating with external agencies and community support programs;
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in modifying curriculum, instruction, and supports to meet diverse learner needs;
- Strong classroom management and de-escalation skills grounded in restorative and supportive practices;
- Experience working in alternative, outreach, inclusive, or therapeutic educational settings is considered an asset.
