Heritage Collegiate School Counsellor Position

Join Heritage Collegiate in Lethbridge as a School Counsellor, providing essential support and leadership from September 2026 to June 2027. Emphasize student development through individual and group counseling strategies.

In this full-time role, you will be instrumental in creating a comprehensive guidance program while working directly with students and staff. Your position includes managing crisis situations and implementing assessments that align with the educational objectives of NLSchools. You will apply your extensive knowledge of student development and ethical counseling practices to foster a nurturing and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the implementation of a comprehensive school guidance program

• Guide and counsel students in individual and group sessions

• Develop and execute assessments for student needs

• Collaborate with staff and engage families in decision-making

• Address critical incidents by participating in planning

Requirements:

• NL Teaching Certificate – Level IV or higher

• Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology needed

• Bachelor's degree in Education essential

• Experience in crisis intervention and counseling

• Knowledge of DSM-5 relevant to student issues
