We have an exciting opportunity for an Admissions Specialist to join the Admissions & Transfer team within Student Enrolment & Registrar Services at the University of Lethbridge. This position reports to the Manager, Admissions & Transfer and plays a pivotal role in supporting the University’s strategic enrolment goals through effective evaluation and processing of student applications.

As a key member of the admissions team, you will also be a central contact for prospective students—domestic and international—and will apply your expertise in admission requirements, academic policy, and global education systems to help guide applicants through the admissions process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and process applications for admission to undergraduate and graduate programs, including credential assessment, GPA calculation, and awarding transfer credit.
  • Issue official correspondence; follow up on conditional offers and review final official documents.
  • Provide detailed and accurate information to applicants and stakeholders regarding admissions policies, transfer credits, and eligibility.
  • Conduct research on domestic and international education systems and participate in developing admission policy and improving processes.
Position Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years related experience in a post-secondary setting in a student services role, with proven intercultural communication skills and demonstrated commitment to providing inclusive and student‑centred service.

We are looking for a candidate who is adaptable, and able to make efficient, well‑supported admission decisions. This requires attention to detail, strong organizational and analytical skills, and effective time management. This position is collaborative, and the ability to work well in a team‑based environment, and to maintain effective working relationships with members of the University community is essential.

A high level of computer proficiency and experience working in a Student Information System is required, and experience using BANNER, Slate and CollegeNET is preferred.

The Admissions and Transfer team is currently undergoing a systems and process reimagining, which includes implementing a new CRM and application system – skills and prior experience in system implementation, digital transformation and organizational change would also be considered an asset in this role.

Our ideal candidate will be familiar with University of Lethbridge programs and academic regulations and have a good understanding of domestic and international secondary and post‑secondary education systems, including accreditation standards, grading and transfer credit policies.
