Temporary Full Time Combined Kindergarten Teaching Position
Stavely School and A.B. Daley School
A.B. Daley School (Nanton) and Stavely School are seeking a dynamic and collaborative educator to join our teams for a unique combined Kindergarten teaching position. Both schools believe in a team approach to learning that creates a safe, caring, welcoming, and student‑centered environment where every student can achieve their highest potential.
Position OverviewThis is a shared position between two school communities with the following weekly schedule:
- Stavely School:
Mondays and Wednesdays - A.B. Daley School (Nanton):
Tuesdays and Thursdays - Alternating Fridays:
Rotated between Stavely and Nanton
This position will commence on August 25, 2026, and end on June 29, 2027.
The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for an innovative teacher who loves to collaborate and is dedicated to helping students maximize their learning potential. Our ideal candidate:
- Early Learning Expertise:
Will design a program that encourages curiosity, self‑expression, communication, and problem‑solving. - Literacy & Numeracy:
Is knowledgeable in teaching balanced literacy (including sound reading and writing practices such as UFLI) and incorporating numeracy skills across the curriculum. - Community & Culture:
Is willing to build strong relationships with the community, celebrating Nanton and Stavely’s rich cultural history and demonstrating a passion for working with ethnically diverse students, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students. - Inclusive
Education:
Supports an inclusive model, ensuring success for students with diverse academic, behavioral, emotional, and cultural needs. - Pedagogical Excellence:
Utilizes current outcomes‑based assessment practices and designs innovative, integrated, and place‑based units that develop critical thinking and 21st‑century competencies. - Classroom Environment:
Possesses strong organizational and classroom management skills to maintain a safe and caring learning environment.
- Must possess, or be eligible for, an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
- Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Must be a reflective practitioner committed to professional learning and the Teaching Quality Standard (TQS).
