Position: 1.0 FTE PROBATIONARY PRINCIPAL
Location: Taber

Horizon School Division is committed to engaging and empowering all learners and prioritizes strong instruction, response to intervention, and wellness.

ACE PLACE LEARNING CENTER (ACE Place) – ACE Place is an outreach school that provides alternative choices in education. This Learning Center serves approx. 120 students from grade 7 to 12 and has a professional staff of 7 teachers.

1.0 FTE PROBATIONARY PRINCIPAL

Assignment includes: a school leadership/principal role which includes an approximate 0.40 FTE teaching assignment.

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, student-centered educator possessing the following qualifications:

  • Successful teaching and administrative experience and demonstrated ability to meet the Leadership Quality Standard.
  • A Master's is strongly preferred.
  • Team-oriented leadership style emphasizing collaborative decision-making.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication, and organizational abilities.
  • A strong understanding of pedagogy and ability to build staff capacity.
  • Proven record of teaching excellence in areas of student achievement, student assessment, and responding to instruction and intervention.
  • Knowledge of the importance of community engagement, and the ability to foster school, parent, and community relationships.
  • Understanding of Low German Mennonite culture, and English Language Learning a strong asset.
