Job DescriptionDepartment Overview
The Canadian Personal & Commercial (Cad P&C) Finance Performance Measurement, Insights & Analysis (PMIA) team supports the development and achievement of the strategy and financial results for the Cad P&C segment, including Personal Banking and Business Banking. The Cad P&C PMIA team oversees the full performance measurement lifecycle, seeks P&L optimization opportunities, and leads enterprise initiatives. The team is also responsible for measuring and analyzing the strategies and financial results of TD's Canadian retail peers, developing and maintaining industry knowledge and macro-economic awareness, recognizing and anticipating industry trends, identifying issues and opportunities, and providing recommendations to the senior leadership team.
Job Description
The Finance Manager, Strategic Decision Support, PMIA, reports to the Senior Group Manager, Strategic Decision Support, PMIA, and will work with a diverse team of professionals to provide finance advisory support, insightful analysis, and decision support for all lines of business within Cad P&C.
The role requires superior analytical, communications, and project management skills. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytically minded person who thrives in an agile environment with a strong desire to make an impact.
Specific tasks include:
- Leading the Medium Term Outlook exercise to facilitate the strategic growth direction of the Canadian Retail businesses, including leadership in process, modelling, inputs/assumptions, as well as messaging and recommendations
- Supporting competitive benchmarking analysis as it relates to peer financial results, market share, investor days, as well as additional competitive analysis and insight for business head/senior executive consumption
- Playing a key role in financial support for quarterly TD earnings release, related equity analyst Q&A call preparation packages, as well as other ad hoc and scenario-based analysis to support the effective TD and Cad P&C Segment's financial performance and growth story to the investment community
- Extracting critical pieces of information at the business unit level and understanding business drivers in order to develop key messages and highlights for Cad P&C senior management
- Leading strategic initiatives to advance Cad P&C business and/or finance priorities
- Developing and maintaining deep relationships with key business partners and other stakeholders across the Cad P&C segment and the Bank
- Supporting quarterly public messaging and disclosure of the Cad P&C Segment results in the Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A)

This position requires excellent financial and business acumen, strong attention to detail, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. The chosen candidate must be an individual who is able to work with minimal supervision, contribute to a positive work environment, and manage multiple assignments with varying deadlines for senior executives of the Bank.
