As a valued team member, the Instructor‑Clinical Electronic Documentation will work collaboratively with the Seniors Health Education Team and the Zone CCHSS Team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the educational and clinical developmental needs of the Seniors Health staff from an electronic documentation perspective. This role focuses on education delivery of the electronic documentation platforms (inter

RAI LTC; inter

RAI HC & Connect Care) for Seniors Health and South Zone staff (Home Care, LTC, Access Center, Transition Team and Palliative Care). The instructor will also work closely with seniors health staff in providing guidance, mentorship and advisement, aligning electronic documentation education delivery with client‑centered best practice to meet the needs of the populations served. This position is instrumental in the development of electronic documentation education materials and just‑in‑time education needs.

The instructor will influence the quality of care delivered to clients in Seniors Health through education, support and enhancement of skills and knowledge of the seniors health staff with thorough and effective electronic documentation. This work is achieved through positive communication and collaboration within the teams.

Description

As an instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multidisciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence‑informed practice.

You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family‑centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS‑HCP) certification.
Additional

Required Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing or equivalent health‑related degree required.
  • Knowledge and utilization of Adult Learning Principles.
  • Experience with educational content development and delivery.
  • Demonstrates the ability to build relationships and effective collaboration with staff from a variety of organizations and professional backgrounds.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership in role‑focused work, strong organizational skills and practices, effective communication skills and high level computer skills and function.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with Connect Care applications for Home Care, LTC, Palliative Care, Access Center, and Transition Team required.
  • Experience working with teams through change.
  • Minimum of 3‑5 years clinical practice and case management experience in Seniors Health required.
  • High level of understanding of CCHSS.
  • Excellent public speaking skills.
  • Experience with change management protocols and processes.
  • Extensive experience with care plan development / creation required.
  • Ability to walk/stand/sit for long periods keyboarding/mousing documentation for prolonged periods of time.
  • Current BLS‑HCP certification, active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference given to candidates who are inter

    RAI HC & inter

    RAI LTC Instructor certified.
  • 1‑3 years' experience as instructor in a similar role strongly preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
  • Additional educational, advanced skills, and clinical preparation across the Seniors Health spectrum (Home Care, Long‑Term Care, Transition Services, Access Center, Palliative Care and Specialty Geriatric Areas) strongly preferred.
